Marketplace Policy

The Crochetify marketplace is curated. Your shop appears there once you apply and we approve you. This page is what we check, so you know before you apply and you know what to fix if we say no.

Your own Crochetify website is separate. It runs on any plan, it never depends on approval, and nothing on this page changes it.

What approval covers

Approval decides whether your shop shows on the places shoppers browse to find makers: the marketplace, the shops and patterns pages. Your website, your own links, and your existing customers are unaffected either way.

What you confirm when you apply

These are the confirmations on the application form. Every one has to be true of your shop.

• I made the products I sell, or I have the right to sell them.
• My patterns, photos, descriptions, branding, and other content are my own or properly licensed.
• I am not selling stolen or counterfeit goods.
• I am not presenting mass-produced, wholesale, or dropshipped goods as handmade or as my own work.
• Every public image on my shop is a real photo of a real piece, with no AI-generated content. Ordinary edits like cropping, colour correction, and background removal are fine.

The photo rule is the one makers ask about most. Real photos of real pieces, no AI-generated images. Ordinary editing is fine: cropping, colour correction, straightening, removing a background. AI images are allowed on your own website, and they keep a shop off the marketplace.

We review the shop, not every listing

We review your shop once. When we approve it, your listings go on the marketplace, and so does everything you add afterwards: a new piece or pattern appears there when you publish it, with nothing to submit and nothing to wait for.

That is the point of approving a shop rather than a catalog. We are deciding whether we trust how you work, and once we do, we are not going to stand between you and your own shelves every time you make something.

The rules above still apply to everything you list. If you put something on the marketplace we want off, we get in touch and ask you to take it down. If you leave it up, we take your shop off the marketplace. Your own website is never affected.

A shop we have not approved is not on the marketplace at all, listing by listing or otherwise. The shop application is the way on.

If we say no

We give a reason, and you can read it on Marketplace in your dashboard. The reason names what to change, because it is what we look at again when you come back.

You can apply again 3 days after a decision. The wait is there so a second application is one you have had time to act on, not the same shop sent straight back. Fix what we named and apply again. A shop we turned down once is not turned down for good.

The same applies to a shop we remove after approving it. Your website keeps running, your orders and customers are untouched, and the wait before reapplying is the same.

Why we review at all

Shoppers come to the marketplace for handmade crochet bought from the person who made it. That only holds if what they find there is what we say it is. Reviewing is how we keep resold factory goods and borrowed photos off a page that has your shop on it too.
